Humanoid robots and emerging technology made tangible.
Area42 is Reply’s innovation lab, where emerging technologies move from experimentation to real-world applications. From humanoid robots and autonomous navigation to generative AI, digital twins and virtual try-on, the lab brings together a constantly evolving ecosystem of technologies and use cases.
My role was to translate this complexity into a clear visual language and creative direction for digital content across social media and digital channels. The challenge was to make highly technical innovations feel immediate and easy to understand without oversimplifying them. Rather than treating each technology as an isolated demo, with the team, we created a flexible visual and storytelling system that gave different projects a shared identity.
The result is a content approach that puts technology into context, showing not only what these systems can do, but how they could change the way we interact, work and experience the world.

The result is a content approach that puts technology into context, showing not only what these systems can do, but how they could change the way we interact, work and experience the world.
Designed in a vertical format for social media, each video translates a complex system into a clear, tangible use case, from humanoid robots navigating their surroundings to AI-generated virtual fashion experiences.
The goal was to make the content feel curious, accessible and forward-looking, while keeping technology at the centre of the story.

A visual language for technology in motion.
The creative direction balances Area42’s experimental nature with the clarity of an enterprise technology brand, combining clean compositions, bold typography, interface-inspired elements and dynamic motion.
Instead of relying on generic “future” aesthetics, the content focuses on the technology itself, using robots, interfaces, simulations and AI-generated outputs to make complex innovation feel immediate, contemporary and engaging.

From Fourier GR2 and Unitree robots to Virtual Try-On and facial analysis, the challenge was always the same: give each technology its own moment while keeping the overall experience recognisably Area42.
Making the future easier to understand.
The new content approach gives Area42 a more consistent and engaging presence across digital channels, turning a collection of highly specialised experiments into stories that are easier to discover, understand and share.
More than documenting what happens inside the lab, the content creates a window into what these technologies could make possible, connecting technical innovation with real-world applications and human experiences. Area42 becomes not just a place where technology is tested, but a place where the future can be seen in action.
Thanks, Ilona, and thanks to the whole team for your trust!
